PARMA CABLE

NPK Energia in 2018 developed and introduced into production a fundamentally new design of power electric cables for voltage: 1, 6, 10, 20 and 35 kV with a frequency of 50 Hz in a three-wire and single-wire version with heat-resistant impregnated paper-plastic insulation.

PARMA - a new generation of cables with impregnated paper-plastic heat-resistant insulation.
Advantages of PARMA cables over cables with impregnated paper insulation (IPI):
  • Reducing the weight and diameter of the cable.
  • Reducing the cost of the cable up to 30% by reducing the mass of insulation, metal sheath, protective covers and conductive cores.
  • Increasing the long-term permissible heating temperature of conductive conductors up to 95°C.
  • An increase in current load for cables for voltages of 1 and 6 kV, on average, up to 10%, for cables for voltages of 10 kV and above, up to 15-20%.
  • Increasing the electrical resistance of the insulation (RJ cable for voltages of 6 and 10 kV up to 800 MΩ / km and more.
  • Increasing the breakdown voltage of the cable by 1.5-2 times.
  • Cable laying on vertical and steeply inclined routes without limiting the level difference.
Advantages of PARMA cables over cables with cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation:
  • Reducing the outer diameter of the cable by 20-40%.
  • The use of completely domestic materials, which eliminates dependence on imported materials.
  • The cable impregnated with paper-plastic insulation has the effect of "self-healing", i.e. electrical breakdown of insulation during single-phase short circuits self-destructs, and the dielectric strength of the insulation at the place of arcing is restored.
  • Absence of tree-forming processes and increased dielectric strength of impregnated paper-plastic insulation.
At present, serial production of PARMA heat-resistant cables has been mastered at the Rybinskkabel and Saranskkabel plants.
